Justice was not only one of five contestants in the first-ever youth division, but the only female. “And I only started making pizzas in 2024,” says Justice, who works at Pizza a Modo Mio in West Ashley. “I asked my boss about competing in the contest, then had to prepare for two months—coming up with my own creation, trying different combinations and trying out ideas on family and friends.” She finally settled on Chica Fajita Pizza, PIZZA MAKER NAMED CHAMPION IN FIRST-EVER COMPETITION BY L.C. LEACH III CHARLESTON WOMEN Women in the Making Charleston’s Arabella Justice recently notched an impressive credential by winning a national pizza competition at the 2025 California Restaurant Show. Held Aug. 3-5 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, the show featured the hottest menu trends, live culinary demonstra- Chica Fajita Pizza which had no pizza sauce and only a dressing on top with red, yellow and green bell peppers, chicken that marinated for 48 hours, and three cheeses for a Mexican-style blend. “I had only 25 minutes from start to finish, and in the back of my head was ‘Is this really my best attempt?’” she adds.
