Charleston Women Winter 2024

54 www.CharlestonWomenPodcast.com | www.ReadCW.com | www.Instagram.com/CharlestonWomen Teresa Jones has been an oil painter for over 20 years. Her love for light and color as well as studies in nature and architecture inspires her work — meaning she sees a painting around every corner, and each one has a story. Looking for the unexpected gives a new perspective and freshness to her work. When beginning a painting she starts with a sketch for composition, then puts it on canvas, adding color while paying attention to light, values and harmony. Once she has captured the story on canvas, she completes the painting by carefully adding accents and highlights. Her private studio is located in downtown Charleston overlooking the Ashley River, where she can bountifully capture the Lowcountry wonders in her paintings — and it is open by appointment. Jones occasionally has a wellattended “open studio” and invites the public. Clients can also commission her to capture a precious memory or a specific scene of their choosing. Her goal is to capture the beauty in the world. For one of her paintings to also capture the heart of her client is an honor. Jones is represented by The Lowcountry Artists Gallery located at 148 East Bay St. Her work is on display and available for purchase there. Stop by and discover how her inspiration can become yours.
