She offers a variety of different boards for a variety of different occasions. “There are movie night boards and ‘jar-cuteries’ – you name it. We also offer grazing tables for events and cocktail hours for proposals, weddings, baby showers and more.” Her advice to others on starting a business is to “give yourself grace.” For Pettus, it’s all about the passion. A former math teacher, Financial Services Professional Hope Sullivan of New York Life Investments has always had interest in working with numbers. “I enjoy the financial world and teaching people the ‘why’ behind every decision made.” She admits working in a male-dominated field has been challenging. “I would advise any woman starting off in this field to go for it. She grew up in former Yugoslavia, which was hit by a war in the late 1990s. She moved to St. Louis toward the end of the war, where she met her husband and later had three children. The family moved to South Carolina, and she fulfilled her dreams.
