When I learned the Spring Issue would focus on beauty and wellness, I felt that familiar flutter of excitement—the kind that comes when two of your favorite topics collide in the best possible way. These aren't just subjects I write about; they're what I live and breathe, what I'm always eager to explore and share. Rewind to high school in Charleston. An aerobics studio opened near the old Cooper River Bridge and I got a job as a receptionist. I wasn't a sports girl—I was a dancer—but something about this new fitness world pulled me in. That initial curiosity sparked what became a lifelong passion for movement, eventually leading me to teach it myself.
