Chefs, designers, restaurateurs, shop owners, artists and creators have long taken what Charleston gave them and added something of their own. Perhaps that’s why food and fashion make so much sense together here. Both tell us something about who we are. A chef puts herself on the plate. A designer, boutique owner or stylist gives us another way to express ourselves. Restaurants create rooms we want to be in. And increasingly, influencers give us a fresh lens through which to see a city we may already know by heart.
