6 WWW.CHARLESTONWOMENPODCAST.COM | WWW.READCW.COM | WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM/CHARLESTONWOMEN As summer fades, I find myself looking forward to the arrival of fall in Charleston. Cooler mornings, football weekends, cozy meals and refreshing my wardrobe with richer colors and textures always make the season feel special. Living in the Lowcountry, we wait a little longer for the weather to catch up, but our mindset shifts much earlier. Once school is back in session and our schedules settle into a rhythm, there's an excitement that comes with embracing a new season. Food and fashion have a natural connection. Whether you're gathering around the table with friends or heading out to one of Charleston's incredible restaurants, the question often becomes, "What should I wear?" In our fall issue, we celebrate that connection through inspiring stories, beautiful photography and a photo journal featuring some of our favorite local food and fashion influencers. You'll also discover the early history of women's roles in Charleston restaurants, meet a talented local seamstress creating costumes for area theaters and explore ways to embrace sustainable fashion. Thank you to our Charleston Women marketing partners, the remarkable women who shared their stories, our talented contributing writers and, most importantly, you – our readers. We invite you to follow us @CharlestonWomen and explore even more stories at ReadCW.com.
