Standing in her disco ball-lit Style Lounge, surrounded by decades of collected treasures and dreams made tangible, Andrea Serrano has created more than a closet. She's built a testament to the transformative power of believing in your vision — and making space for it to flourish. In Serrano's world, getting dressed isn't just about what you wear. Partnering with designer Lissette Delvecchio of Chez Lissette — a New York transplant who arrived in Charleston in 2022 — Serrano began transforming the space. Delvecchio, whom Serrano met through mutual friend Juju Taylor at a Charleston Museum event, understood the assignment: create a home that reflects both Serrano and her husband Gus's larger-thanlife personalities. The crown jewel of the home was originally destined to be a playroom for Serrano's teenage boys. But as she stood in the empty space, surrounded by boxes of clothing from decades of styling shoots, inspiration struck. Why not create the ultimate Style Lounge? WHERE MAGIC HAPPENS The transformation is nothing short of spectacular. Pink walls serve as the backdrop for Serrano's carefully curated wardrobe — a rainbow of clothing with every piece color-coordinated and organized with the precision of a museum exhibition. Handbags and shoes occupy their own gallery space, while a builtin dresser houses jewelry and accessories with the reverence they deserve. But it's the details that make the space uniquely Serrano: a lounge area perfect for contemplation, a funky full-length mirror that's witnessed countless styling sessions, and her two dachshunds — Brooklyn and Bud — who've claimed the room as their personal playground. The pièce de résistance? A disco ball chandelier that casts dancing lights across the walls — pure Serrano in suspended, glittering form. "What I do is transform people when I dress them, so I wanted a place I could be transformed in each and every day," she explains, gesturing toward walls that seem to pulse with creative energy.
